Eyepiece Turrets vs. 1.25" Telescope Focusers
Our Long-Range Observation binoculars have two pairs of eyepieces mounted on turrets, so you can quickly change between low-power (25x) and high-power (40x) simply by rotating the turrets 180°. The Binocular Telescopes use 1.25" telescope focusers instead of eyepiece turrets- which means they have the unique ability to use any standard telescope eyepieces (including telescope video cameras). These are more versatile, but because eyepieces must be removed/inserted to change magnification, they are not as convenient as the turret models. One other advantage of the 1.25" focusers over the turrets is extended focus range- they are capable of focusing much more closely than the turret models (as close as 50 feet regardless of magnification). On the turret models, 25x will focus down to about 100 feet, while 40x has a minimum focus distance of about 1/2 mile.

7x50mm Finder-scope
Three of our models have the option to add a 7x50mm finder-scope. The low-power wide-field finder-scope is helpful in quickly pointing the binocular at a target object (a boat, wildlife, the moon, etc.). Steer the binocular to put the target in the center of the finder-scope's view, and the target will then be in the field of view when you look through the binocular's high-power eyepieces.

25/40x100mm Long-Range Observation Binocular
These are the most popular choice for the home-owner with a view. These binoculars feature dual-magnification from turret-mounted 25x (low-power) and 40x (high-power) eyepieces. Available in two very different styles- "Classic" and "Contemporary".

• Classic
  The "Classic", with it's rugged black pebble-grain finish, has the look of a vintage military binocular. The Classic is also the least-expensive of the premium Oberwerk 100mm models.

• Contemporary
  The "Contemporary" shares the same optics with the "Classic", but the automotive-quality painted finish gives it a modern hi-tech appearance. This model does not have the Classic's range-finding reticles. It has a top-mounted handle to aid in moving the binocular. A 7x50 finder-scope is optional.

45° 80mm Binocular Telescope
Oberwerk 45° Binocular Telescopes are the only production binoculars that offer both 45° viewing and the ability to use 1.25" telescope eyepieces. The BT-80-45 is the smallest and least expensive of the premium Oberwerk models, and is 12 lbs. lighter than the 100mm models. Includes 20x eyepiece pair.

45° 100mm Binocular Telescope
The BT-100-45 is our flagship product. This is our finest astronomical binocular (but also perfect for terrestrial viewing). Includes 25x 1.25" eyepiece pair, top-mounted handle, and aluminum trunk case. 7x50 finder-scope is optional.
